first published steps

These might not be the first steps but they are the first video. He still mostly uses furniture etc as a railing.

Eventually we will learn how to rotate these for posting or just shoot them vertically.

Vocabulary now includes: mama, dada, hello, and donde es Frijole?

The truth is dada is just random mutterings. Mama he knows brings smiles, but seems a little unclear of what or who that is. Hello is definitely associated with phones. He completely knows that "Donde es Frijole?" means in Spanish where is your duck. The duck is the one Hannah knitted for him. He goes and finds Frijole almost every time.

Happy New Year

sorry it has been so long since the last post. Internet hitches at home. The holidays were lovely all around. Mike and I had lots of good food and caught up on some sleep. Oscar had a great time exploring new surroundings, new toys, and . . . learnt to crawl (see video of the first crawling at bottom). The crawling happened so fast, and now two weeks later is old news to Oscar as he is pulling up on anything and everything and walking along furniture, pushing things along, and able to stand for a couple of seconds before tipping. Here are a few pictures from the holiday.

What is it? What is it, I can't wait to see what grandad made for me for Christmas!

Wow, its a great wooden cart that I can push all by myself, and i have a whole set of building blocks to go with it! (my mama built this great tower for me, she really likes to play with the blocks a lot)

And boy do i really love to knock em down!

I'm stuck. I haven't learnt how to turn it yet or go backwards. Will some one please build me another tower to knock over?
Blog teaser: stay tuned shortly for the post "Does Oscar look more like mama or dada?"
